Dr. Clark D. Ausloos is a counselor educator, clinician, and consultant with a broad range of experience across counseling and education. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor (MI), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (OH), Licensed School Counselor (OH), and National Certified Counselor, with experience across elementary, intermediate, and junior high school settings, private practice, and higher education. Dr. Ausloos has delivered keynote addresses, invited workshops, and refereed presentations at national, regional, and state conferences — including events convened by ACA, ACES, AARC, SAIGE, NBCC, and CSI. Recent keynote highlights include the Diverse Voices Conference at Oakland University (2026), the North Dakota State Counseling Conference (2025), and the UNC Charlotte Robert Barret Distinguished Lecture on Multicultural Issues in Counseling (2023).
Dr. Ausloos has given talks on a variety of topics including LGBTGEQIAP+ affirmative and liberatory counseling, supporting trans and gender-expansive youth and families in schools and clinical settings, decolonizing counseling research, sexuality counseling and sexual wellness, mentorship and leadership development in counselor education, ethics and advocacy, remediation and gatekeeping in counselor preparation, and counselor wellness and burnout. His presentations and speaking engagements reflect a sustained commitment to cultural responsiveness, social justice, and the preparation of counselors to serve historically marginalized and underserved communities.

Dr. Ausloos was an invited keynote speaker and workshop facilitator at the University of North Carolina Charlotte. Dr. Ausloos presented a public lecture and then the keynote address at the multicultural issues in counseling conference.
Association for Counselor Education & Supervision (ACES) Conference NBCC Minority Fellowship Program
October 2023
Dr. Ausloos and Dr. Letitia Browne-James presented a comprehensive professional development program for counseling professionals at various career stages. This workshop covered key aspects of career development, networking, and leadership within the counseling field. It provided insights into the array of career opportunities available in clinical practice, academia, counseling administration, and research. The program also included practical sessions on job-search strategies for future counselor educators, focusing on resume writing, interview techniques, and understanding the job market. Additionally, attendees learned about the importance of building professional relationships and developing leadership skills that can inspire change and progress within the counseling profession.
UNT Counseling Department Workshop
Dr. Ausloos recently conducted a transformative 3-hour workshop titled "Building Resilience: Working with Gender-Expansive Youth and Families." This session delved into the unique challenges and strengths of gender-expansive individuals, providing participants with effective strategies and insights to support resilience among these youth and their families. Attendees gained access to a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation along with valuable resources that facilitated understanding and practical application in various supportive contexts.The workshop offered essential tools and knowledge to foster inclusivity and resilience. Working with Transgender Youth: Implications for Professional Counselors
In this course, Dr. Ausloos, provided a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by trans* youth and their families. Dr. Ausloos examined how the use of language, combined with a binary cultural framework and long-established social constructs about gender roles and expression, contributed to systemic stigma, marginalization, and discrimination against trans* youth. He outlined the critical role of support from parents, teachers, school staff, and counselors in creating policies and using language that supports the resilience of trans* youth in facing various challenges.
